Too tired to workout

Lately I have been trying to balance my life. I haven't been working out for 14 years now and I decided to change that. I have pounds to loose that dieting does not cut anymore. After 4 babies, I have lost a total of 150 pounds. I am very proud of this and no, this doesn't come easy to me. It is hard. The hardest thing I had to deal with. I do not like myself overweight and my body doesn't look the same anymore and only exercise at this point could bring it back.
Few months ago I find a sport that I really love. I think we should all find something we love to do and it helps. For me it's boxing. It is super hard and I hate it. I only love the punching the heck of my bag part. I hate the warming up and abdomen work. I try to convince myself all day not to go: Too tired, ornery, not in the mood, stressed, kids need me, homework, dinner, didn't eat enough, didn't drink enough. The list goes on and on but I go. I have a schedule and I go. I always tell myself that I don't have to work out hard, that I just need to get there. I always end up kicking my butt and work hard.
I bought one of those calorie counting watch and I want each time those numbers up. It's a great motivation.
I will not show you a before and after picture but here is my progress:

No more arm flab
Smaller tummy
Definition in shoulders
Definition in arms
definition in legs
Chest muscle

As I was pondering about my weight loss journey, one thing is surely motivating me. I want to be healthy and not rely on medication for diabetes (Since I had gestational diabetes my last pregnancy, I am at risk) or cholesterol in few years.  My Mother is on Disability right now and all her health problems are due to her weight. So I have been warned that it could happen to me.
My doctor told me to exercise 2 1/2 hours a week. I think it is a lot but it is recommended for everybody!

I will address the food part of my journey later...

Do you work out?
What do you do?

I've always wanted to try out boxing. I think kickboxing would be more my speed. I'm glad that you've found something that will help you with your weight loss. Have a great day.

Yeah, I work out. I get up about 3 AM to do my morning blogging. I go to the gym at 5, and I come back and continue blogging/sewing until the kids get up. I get them breakfast and I am theirs the rest of the day - until about 9 PM. Then, I do my evening blogging.

I feel better when I work out. My body doesn't hurt. I feel better about myself. unbelievably, most times, I feel more energetic.

Thanks so much for this post.

Way to go Isabelle! Working out is definitely commitment with so many wonderful outcomes. I believe that most of the health problems that affect our society now is the lack of nutrition and exercise education. It always hurts my heart when I see a 30 or 40 year old with too many health problems to count. It also makes me think about how so many people on this Earth die from starvation, while we are so fortunate to have enough food every day. Some people eat so much and gain so much weight that they are confined to their homes, isn't that something! For me, I jog and do yoga. They both give me time to meditate and really be in touch with mind, body, and spirit. It's less about what my body looks like and more about how exercising makes me feel. Keep up the amazing motivation!

Thank you for sharing your story. I get tired of the Dr. or people telling me, you know what you got to do...bla bla bla. It's hard. You need to try this exercise, or that, or even this. Finding something you love is key. I think it is awesome that you have found it.
