Trip to a cabin for the 4 th of July

Our cute little cabin on the top of the mountain
My favorite thing of all time is to rent a cabin and spend time in nature. We went to the big cottonwood canyon on the 4 th of July.

The tired gang.

We hiked all day.

A beaver cut this tree down

This little girl was running everywhere.

And being packed

The big cottonwood canyon is very beautiful. There is a lake on the top of the mountains and great trails.

My husband says we finally got a family picture. That's why I need a photographer folks.

We had a little party with a Boss cake, burgers and smore's

How was your 4 th of July?

Our typical american 4th of July

We had a typical 4th of July: Swimming, making a fire and roast marshmallows and eat smores. Then fireworks in our street with friends. Perfect Day. I love freedom. I love this country.

This year was a very good year for fireworks. They were exploding everywhere. Soleil was terrified and slept instead of watching.

Nail art for the 4th of July tutorial

All time favorite design for this season and for this week. If you do not use the stars it could also be a great nail art for the 14 of July french independence day.
What I used:
Base is Sally Hansen's hard as nails 110 hard to get (White) 2 coats, let dry.
Then I used some curved stickers and for the blue it is Sinfulcolors professional 1100 blue by you. 2 coats.
The red is sally Hansen's Diamond strength 380 Honeymoon red. 2 coats.
I applied the star stickers on the base of the thumbs.
I peeled the stickers and applied 3 coats of top coat polish.

Are you doing something special for the 4th or 14th?

Zombie Fashion? Very funny quote

I am in love with my grey Converse one *star shoes.

Mimi got braces. I am very happy about it, she is not.

I got myself a zombie shirt: Zombies want brains, You are safe. Hehehe. I don't wear it out of the house. Maybe i should.
We have many fires in Utah, we may all burn tomorrow for the 4th of July. Not because of Aliens or Zombies..No...
So tomorrow we are having a water party To celebrate The United States of America's birthday party!

What about you?

Cheesecake recipe for the 4th of July

This recipe is very easy and fool proof. You can't go wrong with the Lion house cheesecake recipe. The lion house cake and cupcake book has all American recipes, perfect for the 4th of July. It is classic Utah recipes.

4th of July Lion house cheesecake with fresh strawberry filling and whipped cream on a pedestal.

Lion House Cheesecake

Makes about 12 to 14 servings
Crust:
1 1/2 cups finely crushed graham cracker crumbs
3 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons butter, melted

Filling:
3 (8 ounces) Packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoon lemon juice
3 eggs
3/4 teaspoon vanilla

Topping:
2 cups sour cream
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

For crust: Thoroughly mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press firmly onto bottom of a 10-inch pie pan or springform pan; set aside while preparing filling.

For filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth; add sugar a little at a time. Add lemon juice. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Mix in vanilla and combine thoroughly. Pour into crust; fill to within 1/2 inch of top to allow room for topping. Bake 55 to 60 minutes

For topping: When cheesecake is almost finished baking. Beat sour cream with a wire whisk; add sugar and vanilla and mix well. Pour over completely baked cake and bake an additional 10 minutes.

Cool completely. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Top with desired fruit topping or serve plain.

I skipped the topping and added the fruit filling with fresh strawberries and piped whipped cream.
I keep the decorations, like little flags you find on store bought cakes and use them later.

What are your plans for the 4th of July?

Bisous
Isabelle
