Weight loss journey: week 14

Look back and smile

This week was pretty bad. My 1200/1400 calories per day was a fiasco. I stuffed my face with cookies and treats. My daughter needs a snack in first grade at school. So I bought some treats for her and ended eating it all. Yes, I can't have things like that at the house. That's it.
Then, I went boxing 2 hours instead of 3 (my goal a week). My wrist started bothering me so I skipped the 3rd hour. Well I could have gone walking. Nope, I stayed home and all I could think about was when hubby and I could watch more vampire diaries episodes (I am on season 2).
I got super depressed about my failure this week and  what I want my body to look like. I told myself that it was ok because I have come a long way from not working out for 15 years to even doing boxing or walking for 1 hour easily.
I am going to look back and worry less about how much I have to go.

I still manage to burn 1000 calories for 1 hour of boxing. That's pretty good!

Weight loss journey: week 13

With the kids back to school I still managed to do 3 hours of boxing and 1:30 of walking. I have a desire to start doing weights at the gym but I have no idea how to do it because the kids have sports too in the evenings and I am at home with a 18 month old all day and I don't have a Mom to help me. My choice would be to go at 8 or 9 Pm. I still have to think about it and see if it is possible. Especially right now my baby is teething and keeping me up.
I am super happy still about my week. Although, I did poorly with the 1200/1400 calories a day. Very poorly but that's ok.

Now, did you know:
How many calories is 1 pound of fat?
3500 calories
So I burned more than 1 pound of fat this week. Yippee!

weight loss progress week 8

The scale can't lie. I weighed myself yesterday morning and I am now at a 13. 4 pounds loss. I am 5.3 at 134.6 pounds.

I exercised 4 to 5 hours a week theses past 4 weeks. The first 2 weeks I didn't go boxing because my baby was sick and husband was out of town. Then I just took some time to walk.
This week I went boxing for 2 hours. Run for 1 hour and did my first leg day with 20 pounds weights. This is new with my routine as I was only walking. I am obviously getting stronger. I want to start doing more weights and build more muscles.
I have been eating between 1200 to 1400 calories per day. Clean eating = Healthy
This time I lost less than the first 4 weeks but I am still happy about the results.
I can tell my body has changed a lot and my muscles are starting to show up.
I was at the store yesterday and can now fit in Small size clothes. I used to be a Large. My feet are also smaller in my shoes.
I am liking my new fit life and get ornery on the days I can't go walk. I think I just changed my life and habits.

I have few more pounds to loose but not that much. I have 4 more weeks to go until I stabilize my calories intake but the working out will stay because I do not want to be skinny. I want to be FIT.

How is your fitness going? Do you go to the gym or stay home? run, walk? Let me know. I can learn from you.

I lost 10 pounds walking

Well I lost 9 pounds but really I am so happy that my efforts are paying off.
I started 4 weeks ago. I walk 1 hour a day and also go boxing for 1 to 2 hours a week. I don't like running so I am walking. No one can say that walking is too hard or 2 expensive. I really encourage you to go walk!

I love my calories counting watch. The number you see above is 2 hours of boxing. It is my hardest so far at 2053 calories in 2 hours and 10 minutes.
I figured if I can burn in one week more calories that I eat I will loose weight. I am surely.
My watch told me I burn 2000 calories in a 12 hour day. So I eat less. Minimum 1500 per day and healthy. A salad for lunch everyday and I stay away from "brown foods" = Junk food.
I have been counting my calories.
I am seeing my body getting fit after 14 years without exercising and it is feeling good. My legs and arms are getting stronger and pretty. I know that you will surely say that I already look good. I think I know how to make myself look good in pictures. I am 5'3 and now after loosing 9 pounds I am at 139 pounds. Will you walk with me?

Some things I do differently:

  • I drink 8 glasses of water a day
  • I focus on my favorite body part =  My legs. It helps me to stay positive about my body.
  • I eat a salad for lunch
  • I drink a diet shake or protein shake for dinner on days I am not hungry
  • I count my calories

What works:

  • Walking 1 hour a day is actually easy if you try
  • Walking with music makes you go longer and faster
  • When I exercise I am actually less hungry that day
  • I go easy on the weekend with the food but strong during the week
  • Infused water with an orange slice or ginger root is easier to swallow. With a straw it's even better!
  • I walk or workout 5 days a week
  • I try to sleep as much as I can to let my body recover
  • I eat a good breakfast = Oatmeal then I go walk
  • I try to go the extra mile and push myself
  • I use my watch to see my progress and count the hours I workout during the week.

My Title boxing club in Utah experience

This new boxing club just opened: it's Title boxing club in Cottonwood Heights, Utah
This is the first boxing club in Utah.
I always wanted to try boxing. It is a little intimidating I have to say but I have decided to try new things this year on and get my body back after baby.
It really kicked my butt. I am so out of shape and this was neat. I have never had a work out so fun where I really gave my best and saw the results right away. My biceps were swollen and legs too. I was so impressed. Boxing is a full body work out and my back, legs, abs were sore the next day. I had no pain the next day even though my knees and neck are sensitive.
Only my muscles were sore.
The music was perfect for the work out and the ambiance was motivating.

Few things you may wondering:

Do I have to fight people?
No you don't. it is a class so there is no ring. Just lots of punching bags and people having fun.

Is it hard? I am out of shape.
You go at your own pace, the moves and exercises are simple. You will get stronger each time and do more and better.

Will I hurt my knuckles?
No, I punched pretty hard the whole time and my hands were intact. You wear a "bandage" like in my picture above in pink and then the boxing gloves on top.

How many calories can you burn?
Between 100 to 1000.
