I have Chicks fever...I want to incubate and hatch chicks so bad !
I have the incubator and i know how to do it.
I did it 2 years ago and loved it. It was a great learning experience.
I raise the chick in a plastic storage bin and then...
I would need a Chicken coop...

Little Mango...I helped her out of her Shell...I can remember her staring at me. She was stuck.
I miss her. We had to sell her when we moved.
The blue eggs are from easter egger Chickens. My favorite.
My other favorites are White silky Chickens. But they don't lay very well. More of a pet.
I can't resist...
It takes 21 days to incubate chicks. So i would have to start on April 4th to get chicks on Easter day.Intrigued ? Check Backyard Chickens.com.

Thats so cool! I want to do it now! Have an amazing Wednesday :)
I have brought up the chicken thing with my boyfriend and he said no way. Who do you get to watch your chickens if you go out of town for a week? I can barely get somebody to watch my dog.
Bonjour mon ami, just popping in to catch up and say hello... can't wait to see if you do it again... that is amazing about the Easter blue egss..xo HHL

Aw..so adorable!
We had chickens when I was young. Our chickens never seemed to stay on the eggs long enough, so we would place thw in a box and lower a hanging bulb lamp over them to hatch them ourselves. We didn't hatch alot like this but,it worked a few times. I always got so excited when they pecked the hole to come out:)
Every time I see baby chicks, I think of my mom. When she was a child, that's when people colored chicks for Easter. Her parents gave her a little green one. She loved it, but stepped on it by accident. Every Easter, I find those baby chick toys when shopping and ask if she wants to step on it. Somehow, she's never pleased with me saying that.
Seriously though, it sounds interesting that you hatch your own chickens. Not something I would do. I'm more of a dog person than a farm animal type person. However, your chicks are very cute!
We hatched some eggs in my first grade classroom one year and I think I enjoyed the event even more than the children if this is possible! It is beyond exciting to see a chick emerge from the egg shell......a new beginning.
Awe - love this post....i have chickens but just brown eggs...love the color's of your eggs? xoox, tracie

Hi my grandmother just got chickens this year. In my town a lady already had chickens but then they had an official meeting to say everyone can have up to 3 chickens but no roosters. They are so cute but we didnt actually get to hatch them. They were born on good friday tho! :)
