Backache

This is where i sat all day yesterday, my very comfy, child friendly couch..It is very neutral and goes with any color side chairs...So i watch TV all day, i never watch TV .LOL. Today i feel better, i am not used to have a strait back and it is a little weird..I am still sore.....I will explain...

For years, i have been suffering of backache...So bad that at 12:00 am my day was finished....I do have a bad posture and it started after the birth of my first child, Lola.....So here i am 10 years later and my back is very bad....I always put myself last, i never ask for help unless i am handicapped....Not really whiny for sure...

So i decided to take care of myself and go see a Chiropractor....Man, i new i had something bad and in the past days,  i thought i had a bone sticking out....So i get there, the doctor is super nice, we do some test and he did some work on the areas that needed work...And...He popped that bone in my spine back.....I am so sore but my back is straight....I don't remember the last time i felt my back strong and straight...I am sore but well...feeling relief...My posture is 100% better...

I am actually kind of mad....Because...i put myself always last...Mad at myself...I blamed my pain due to lifting kids...not exercising .....So, i think i have started to change that and put my health and desires first...Do you find excuses and end up putting yourself last?
Maybe it is a Mommy thing...

So glad to hear your pain is going away! I always put myself last. I do think it's a mommy thing.

I've decided on Emily's b-day. We are going to have a few girls send the night, and I'm going to take them to get a manicure and pedicure! We will call it the spa treatment! Hope they like it! Thanks for all your ideas..

First of all....SO GLAD YOU ARE FEELING BETTER=0)

I have always been very athletic and feel horrible if I don't excercise. I have had back pain, due to lifting my huge kids, LOL! What are we gonna do? They love have a birds eye view, LOL! So, I can't say that I always put everyone first, when it comes to excercise. I am the last one to eat......ALWAYS, LOL!

Remember this..............
If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy, LOL!!!

Have a great day,
xoxo,
Carol

I just went on Monday to see my chiropractor, I had hurt my neck exercising and have been paying for it for a couple of weeks now. Learn how to work out better, feeling a bit better but have to wait for the swelling to go down before the nerve isn't as pinched.
Mama's are always last, why I don't know, we are needed all the time I suppose. Today is my "me" day, I had to do it or else I would end up hating everyone.
I hope that you are feeling better. Don't forget the IBP and some ice will help the swelling and you'll feel great soon. Exercise is good, feels good too, when you don't hurt first.
Take care of yourself. Have a great and blessed afternoon.

Glad you are feeling better - nothing wrong with putting your needs first for a change. It's good to re-fuel!
I should see a chiropractor - always backaches too!

You should think about yourself my dear. Just try and make some small changes into that direction.

My (French) husband and I are getting excited about our trip to the U.S. - flying to Miami from Paris on Saturday!

Glad you are feeling better. Usually a visit to the chiropractor makes one feel better.

Don't forget to make yourself a priority.

Lived in France (Orlean)for 3 years. Loved every second of it.
I’ve enjoyed looking over your blog. I came across it through another blog I follow, and I’m glad I did. I am now a follower of yours as well. Feel free to look over my blog and perhaps become one as well.

I am so sorry about your back. I have a lower back problem that gives me problems now and then and all I can do is lie in bed. I have never been to a chiropractor. My regular doctor gave me medication that helps to relax the muscles. That and bed rest help.

It is so hard to say no to your kids and to put yourself first. But remember, you are no good to them if you are ill. Hope you feel better soon, sweetie!

It is so a Mommy thing. Take care of your back, you need it for the rest of your life. I so know back issues...I've had four back surgeries and now I do take care of my back!!!

Take it easy and make some time for yourself!!

It is definitely a mommy thing but, as the saying goes, you're no good to anyone else if you don't take care of yourself first!!! My kids are way beyond the lifting age but I do get pain in my sciatic nerve even though I workout 4 to 5 days a week...guess it's just age!

I hope you feel better soon, I twinged just reading this...ugghhh!

I don't know that it's especially a mommy thing, just a mentality that tends to rear its ugly head when you're a mommy. But I have it as well. Maybe it's a woman thing. Caregiver, nurturer. Either way, it's not good, as you've proven! But I'm glad your back has finally been taken care of!!

I truly believe it's a "Mommy thing". Take some "time out", you deserve it. Let your kids wait on you. I don't like to exercise, but I love to ride my bikes with my kids. I hope you get feeling better! Best wishes to you!

Maybe putting yourself last is ultimately a female thing if even mom's to be are feeling the same way!
You have no idea how bad I felt reading the first part of your post today! Chiropractic is such a safe and natural choice. I hope it works out for you. I've noticed it works long term when people are commited to building each of their appointments on one another and staying the "wellness/routine route" so you don't ever have to feel that bad ever again!
I have a Acupuncture gift certificate for a free session I want to give you.
Bless you!! And that Back! xxoo

We all do things like this. We think we are so strong and can handle everything! You should go often and keep yourself in good shape. I have been getting a few massages of late and it has really helped me heal! :D

So Glad your feeling better.
I think most women with a family put themselves last. Seems silly since we seem to run the household.
Maybe we all need to put ourselves first, think of what it's like for the family to be without us!

I'm sorry Frenchy. Back problems aren't fun. My son and I have had back surgeries. His worse than mine. I'm glad the chiro. could help. Be careful and take some time for you. I can't believe, I am saying that when I don't BUT I am trying to. So feel better, my friend.

i'm so sorry your back is hurting, but hopefully continued chiropractics will really help. i struggle with back pain as well, but can't seem to fit in a visit to the chiro. i guess i have to get better at that whole making time for myself thing. :)

Oh so easy to put yourself way down the list of priorities when you have a family to care for.
Hope the soreness eases soon and you feel the benefit of a your better posture.
