Chickens bring a little bit of France to your home

For free Rooster pictures HErE

I love Chickens...This is no surprise...In France Chickens have always been treasured.
The Rooster is the French Emblem like the Eagle is to the United States.

CHICKENS are Highly addictive! When you start it is very hard to stop!
Last year i hatched Chicks twice!

It was fun to see them grow!

I even raised one in my veggie garden...
Chickens only eat weeds and the bottom leaves...Never touch the tomatoes...Great fertilizer and natural weeder...
Put the chickens in when plants are established....

We had so many tomatoes! CRAzY

Then we got our first eggs!!!! It was SOOOOO exiting!

(Blue eggs from an Easter egger Chicken).

The kids named her "Stripe"  Barred rock breed...She is so beautiful!
Here the chickens in my house...

I am sure i will get the Chicken obsession some time soon.
I need a new coop since we moved... Next spring for sure!

Also, it teaches responsibility to the kids as they help with feeding/watering and collecting eggs...

Did you know? If i can find a Vet who will take a Rooster's voice box away...I can have a Rooster and have Baby Chicks....
Roosters are so beautiful and when you hatch, you get 50/50 boys and girls...
I would keep my favorite this way...

  1. Hi Frenchy, I love chickens as well (my hubs adores them). We actually want to move to south to have the room to raise a few (just for us, to have fresh, organic eggs). I'm dreaming of a Provence-inspired farm....oh yes...rustic, timeliness, classic. Have a great weekend, darling.

  27. My kitchen and dining room is Rooster themed in memory of my 10 year old son who passed away. He loved hatching and raising chickens - we had so much fun. The funniest (or oddest) moment I can remember was we were sitting at the breakfast table eating fried eggs when one of the chickens began to hatch out of the egg that was in the incubator. It was just an odd moment lol

  34. We have had chickens and enjoyed them but have had some very mean roosters. They used to chase my siblings to the bus. The most current roosters are mean to our cat. olive
